You may not have heard it here first, but we're covering  it anyway! The launch of Blizzard's new Heroes of the Storm crossover with Overwatch event comes with all sorts of cool crossover features, and sure, we we're all dazzled and amazed and gleeful, but then--Police D.Va! The character skin you didn't know how much you loved, until now.

That's right this blog post isn't here to talk about anything other than the  new D.Va skin, I mean, come on! Blizzard has basically transformed D.Va's mech into a futuristic  cop-mobile...gundam...cop-gundam...It's basically, D.Va's mech but with flashing red and blue sirens . Awesome!

As if that wasn't enough, Baby D.Va is suited up in an officers uniform ! Surely, she's the youngest on the force.

This video by BlameTheController cover's all the coolest features, but I'll let you in on something, skip to  1:45.  ;)

Mei Bug - Fixes Coming  Soon

4/16/2017

Let's talk about Overwatch -- specifically, Mei. Over the last week Overwatch came out with a patch along with the new Uprising update where they decided to punish Mei mains with an awful bug in the system. Since this update, users will find that, though Mei can still freeze enemies, her main shot no longer slows them during the freeze process. Also, her ult takes longer to totally freeze enemies.
PVPLive.net
"entirely unplayable"
Mic.com
"recipe for disaster."
Now,  typically articles about this bug have stated that this makes  Mei somewhat ....unusable?

What do we say, here at Money Match Gaming?  Well, I Smurf, can't speak for the whole team, but that's fine. I'll speak for the Mei mains. It's headshot season out there. When I first noticed the bug, my team was in the midst of yelling at me while I held the point on Anubis with gold elims and gold damage from the previous round. We held for another minute before being forced back to the second point where we of course held, because Mei is bae.

That said, blizzard has stated that changes to the last patch are coming that should fix multiple bugs, other than the mei issue.

There have also been issues with torb that will be addressed, so if you've had a torb and a Mei on your team, lay off bae and blame the Torb. Bae is still two shots to the head for a kill and does damage to pesky characters like Ginji and Lucio. Torb could also fit into this category, but I fear that most Torbs choose him because of their lack of aim, which is a shame because IF you place torrents and move around he's a beast like Marshawn Lynch. That doesn't happen much.

The issue with Torb since the new patch for Overwatch Uprising  have to do with placing his turret on platforms. Literally the worst scenario for smart Torb players.  The accuracy of the turret is affected on platforms, which includes things like balconies, roofs and,,,the payload, should the team ever find it.

Changes are coming for the Spring Uprisings bugs the week of April 17, 2017, so fear not  online  warriors!

Weekly Smash Bros. 4 Tournaments

11/14/2016

As the Super Smash Bros. Wii U Community continues to grow, Money Match Gaming would like to grow along with it. Our reasons for this aptitude are simple; we love gaming, we love smash bros, and we want to find ways to give back to the community. It is our belief that holding smash bro.s tournaments online whether paid or free with prizes is something this community just doesn't have enough of ;) .

After speaking with folks in Smash Bros. groups around the country we've decided to do two things to change up how we've been running smash tournaments. One,  we'll be holding weekly FREE tournaments with a Prize of Wii U pts, Steam pts, Cash, or other Goodies!  And two,  we'll be holding paid $5 tournaments  every month or so with a percentage based pot.

A lot of the backlash we got from these groups seemed to be because we either inflated the pot so that you guy's would hopefully find it more appealing (instead people thought it was a scam, le sigh), and that we should be more clear about percentages and where the money is going. So, please bare with us as we work through these bugs. Our goal it to create a safe space for gamers to do what they love, learn, share, and make money. We're getting closer.

The Craft of Gitting Gud

Gitting Gud

As I sit here after another weekly meeting with my fellow Money Match Gaming members, I had the opportunity to take some time and reflect. First and foremost, I realize how mysterious, mystical, and a bit over the top a blog post can be when you’ve had one too many glasses of wine and it’s really late when you write it. Second, how much time, effort, and work go into making different ventures succeed. Not only do I work 50 hours per week during my normal job, but then tack onto that 3 hours in meetings, multiple hours doing research, working on other tasks, theorycrafting for the business. Add into that meal prep for lunch the next day, as well as spending time with my significant other, there really isn’t a lot of extra time in my day. You always hear about the success of actors, actresses, music artists, CEO’s of large corporations. But what you don’t hear are the countless hours they spend working. Although some consider the time spent on those endeavors to be a hobby, or work, it doesn’t matter. They are spending a majority of their life doing those things. Sure you make a lot of money and are financially successful because of it, but what is the trade off, what are you giving up to achieve that? I think there are times in life where we all need to take a step back and think about what’s important, what do we want to accomplish, and why do we want to spend our time doing the things we are doing. And third, how do I manage risk in my life. What do I invest in for retirement, how do I make sure I make my significant other happy and make sure I take care of the person I am spending my life with and making that rewarding and fulfilling for both parties. What more do I need to know and do to make the business successful, make sure each team member works together with the rest of the group and we aren’t fighting. How do I succeed and continue to advance within the company I currently work for. Not to mention fit in more time to play video games.

Remember, life's a journey, you should have fun with it, don’t worry too much, laugh a little, and if you get stressed, just let it go. Just as you have the ability to stress, you have an equal ability to let go of it.

Till Next Time,

Mikey

A Message to our Viewers

For the Viewers,

As the business begins to develop, Ideas begin to take shape, and we begin crossing from the plane of imagination and ideas into the physical world. I find myself taking on a new task, blogging. I have considered this for a while, and begun to take into consideration what I should talk about, what people might want to hear, and why you as a reader or viewer should follow what I have to say. I have a few answers to these question. I hope to bring to talk about and discuss, mainly with myself, things that are going on with the business, the gaming industry as a whole, peer to peer within the business and my own personal life, as well as any other random thing I feel like talking about because I’m writing, and you’re reading! I feel that I am an interesting person and I have the ability to take you along the journey of creating my own start up with three of my friends, while maintaining a full time job, attempting to be the best person I can be in my relationship as well as with my family and daily interactions. Though this first blog post is somewhat reminiscent of a Seinfeld episode where I have listed items to talk about and yet fail to really go into any level of discussion about them, I look forward to the upcoming journey. There is more to come, so do not worry. I shall try to write often when I am in different moods to try and bring different thoughts or (energy for lack of a better word) ←- to the blog. As always, I do it for the viewers.

Pokemon Go Released to US Android & iOS devices

www.denofgeek.comimage source: www.denofgeek.com
Have you ever wanted your very own misbehaved Pikachu? Does the thought of a Magic Carp of your own give you the chills? Well, now is your chance! Pokemon Go has been released in the US for Android and iOS devices in their respective app stores. Previous to this the game had only been available in other countries like New Zealand or by means of downloading third party apps to download and acquire the game, but as of midnight July 7, the game is now available to Pokemon Trainers in the US.

In earlier test it seemed like there were issues on the servers holding the game, and some users were repeatedly kicked out. Hopefully this will not be the case with the US launch, but let’s be real, gamers come to expect this sort of thing. It’s not a pretty part of the life, but it’s a part of it nonetheless.

So, the “ball” (pokeball) is in your hand. What will you do? Catch them all, or just a few?
See you out there ;)
